Since launching, Soulardarity created a proposal for Highland Park to install 1000 solar streetlights, installed 100 home and alley solar lights through the PowerUP program (which doubled in size from 2016 to 2017), built a democratically elected board, launched educational collaborations such as Solar For The People, Advanced Energy Education, and Making It Ours: A Popular Education Course on Energy Democracy. Our member and partner teams are starting action teams, researching strategies for residential and community solar, and leading community-driven member engagement and renewals. We now have a strong staff, over 140 members, our very own office, an coverage in local and national media
We are raising funds now to grow our capacity to meet these opportunities head on. Here are some of the things your donations will help to support.
- $5 prints 50 flyers for an event
- $15 buys an hour of childcare to make our events more accessible
- $25 supports a subsidized Soulardarity membership
- $50 buys winter weatherization supplies for a household
- $100 buys local, healthy food for a small community meeting
- $250 pays one month’s rent at our office and maintains a safe, community space
- $1000 sends our community leaders to share Highland Park’s story on a national platform
- $3000 keeps a roof over our heads in 2018!
