Power Outage Hearing

Power Outage Hearing

Hundreds of thousands of people lost their power for nearly a week, costing households hundreds of dollars for lost food and temporary housing, while having to pay some of the highest rates in the country for a service with a failing record. Now they are asking for ANOTHER rate hike for residential customers.

Scott Announces Committee Hearing in Response to Massive Power Outages

While the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) are the ones who determine those requests, it is the MI Legislature that creates the policies that they interpret and enforce. Lets tell the legislative members of the Energy Committee that right now is the time to create laws that will push utilities like DTE to invest in and modernize the grid and protect residents from more power outages.

- You can join us in Lansing or tune into the livestream. There is currently no livestream link available. As soon as it is provided by the state, we will share it on here and via email.

- If you would like to carpool, please let Rafael Mojica ([email protected]) or Michelle Jones ([email protected]) know.

We hope you will join us in demanding that we deserve better from our utilities and that the Legislature need to do their jobs in making those demands with us.
